I believe that photography should be a joy, not intimidation. I seek to find the beauty in the every day; in the gentle curve of a rose petal, in the delicate handle of a tea cup, in the cover of a French novel I admittedly can't understand! I love the natural world and like to represent it my photographs along with pretty things someone of a feminine constitution might appreciate. Perhaps you find a lit candle cozy or a cup of coffee soothing. Would you care for a bouquet of peonies and hydrangeas, fresh from the garden after a spring rain? Yes please!
Here at JCSpeck.com, I seek to teach women the pleasures of painting with light at a comfortable pace, wth no fear or intimidation. I know how scary photography school is because I was there! I flunked out after one round of studio lighting. Ever try to light a crystal goblet? It is madness I tell you! So why bother? Let's take Nat Geo-level travel photos using natural light and magazine-quality still llifes using only our living room windows. Let's wow Instagram with our dreamy forest scenes using an iPhone and a summer storm. Let's do it all together without pain or tears or suffering. Because though art may not be easy, it should bring us nothing but pleasure, wouldn't you agree?
